October 18, 2005 againAnd the bitch is backJust because we're the only Pinoys on a flight does not mean we're going to be friends.
Last flight went okay, except there was this Pinoy guy who just wouldn't stop talking to me.
I was standing behind him inside the plane, waiting to get to my seat when he turned around.
Him:
"Taga saan ka?"Me:
"Manila."Him:
"Pilipina ka?"Me:
"Oo."I was looking forward to sleeping or finishing my book so I started praying that his seat wasn't beside mine. I was in luck, he was seated in front of me.
That didn't stop him from being chatty though. He craned his neck and kept asking me questions.
Him:
"Bisita ka lang dito o magwo-work?"Me:
"Bisita lang."Him:
"Gano katagal ka?"Me:
"Four days lang."Him:
"Bakit?"Me:
"May ico-cover lang para sa dyaryo."Him:
"Saan ka magse-stay?"Me:
"Intercon."I wasn't asking him any questions, clearly I was not interested in pursuing the conversation. But he didn't get the hint.
"Ako two weeks lang," he said. I merely nodded and started reading my book.
Snacks were served on the plane - it was a choice between crackers and cheese or a giant chocolate chip cookie. Naturally, I went for the cookie.
I was happily eating my giant cookie when I noticed that he was still looking at me.
Wasn't the guy getting a stiff neck?
He said something I didn't understand. I didn't reply. I thought he finally got the hint.
But when the plane landed and I stood in line waiting to get out of it, he started talking again.
Him:
"Ano yung ico-cover mo?"Me:
"Weta Studios."Him:
"Kelan yun lalabas?"Me:
"Matagal pa."When I finally got out of the plane, I noticed that he was still walking beside me. I made it a point to go all the way around the baggage carousel, away from everyone else.
He still approached me.
Him:
"Alam mo ba kung magkano ang dapat i-tip dito?"Me:
"Hindi."I'm sorry. I was tired, I was sleepy, I just wanted to get out of there.
Yes, I know, I can be so unfriendly at times.
